About me

I have  worked in the Building Industry since commencing my apprenticeship in 1997. During that period I have managed to perfect my trade over the entire spectrum of the Building Industry.

I commenced my apprenticeship in the commercial sector working for Maycroft Construction. I then went on to complete my apprenticeship working for Howmar Construction. This is where I was first exposed to Top End Architecturally Designed Homes.

After completing my apprenticeship I then embarked on my OE. During this time I had construction opportunities on some amazing High End projects in London, Aspen/Colorado and Sydney.

In 2004 i came back from overseas and spent 7 years working for Ash Sparks Builders. I was gifted some amazing opportunities to build and work on several of the finer homes in Wellington. As a foreman I had full control of the day to day running of these dynamic homes. My skill set was building from the ground through to completion on these highly complex hill side homes including the overseeing of up to 10 staff, sub-contractors and communicating with Architects and Engineers.

In 2011 I left the security of paid employment to build my own home. Since completion, I have undertaken several large residential renovations and a multitude of other successful projects as a self employed licensed building practitioner.

Over this time I have also been involved with Leaky Home Remediation. I have spent a great amount of time working alongside one of the top Building Surveyors in the country Thomas Wutzler compiling evidence for litigation and determining the failures of this unfortunate blight on New Zealands construction history. I understand the stress this causes for a homeowner, I believe my approach and knowledge of the process  will ease any anxiety by being up front and honest and not make any unsubstantiated claims to fix.

Since mid 2017, I have resided in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. I chose to move with my family to the sunny shores of Ohope Beach for a new start and to give my 3 boys opportunities in the great outdoors. I bring a great wealth of knowledge and experience to the region.

When I take on a project, it becomes more than just a job, it becomes my passion… I live and breathe the project to ensure its success for my clients. I pride himself on my communication and organisation and endeavour to always keep my clients fully informed of my intentions. I do take particular interest in the smaller complex jobs such as bathrooms / kitchens and provide a complete project management service to alleviate any unnecessary holdups.
