In May 2012 we commenced a 20 week renovation project to dramatically alter the living spaces, kitchen and bathroom of our 3 bedroom family home. Jared was recommended to us by a family friend who was originally to complete the build but required a knee operation and wasn’t able to commit to the job. When introduced to Jared by the family friend, who had been in the building industry for 30+ years and was impressed by Jared’s trade skills, we felt we were able to entrust Jared with this significant alteration to our family home.

During the build process we were continually impressed and thankful for Jared’s helpful and flexible attitude, with Jared often raising issues of practicality over design or providing guidance where needed on key decisions (only ever at our request) to ensure that we ended up with the best possible end result. With any significant renovation you can always expect changes, both client initiated and through necessity, and Jared always dealt with such occurrences in a professional and friendly manner. All variations being documented and evidenced through photographs so that all parties were clearly informed and in agreement before work commenced.

Two key things which stood out with our renovation and Jared’s involvement:

Firstly, the numerous comments from other tradesmen (unsolicited) as to the quality of the workmanship. An example of this being the painter, a meticulous and qualified tradesman, who commented that when painting he always knows how good the builder is by the quality of the finishing. He felt that Jared’s was excellent.

Secondly, I am to this day highly impressed that following completion of the work and final payment Jared continues to follow up on any minor issues needing further work. When we had issues with the workmanship of the plumber Jared ensured that these concerns were addressed to our satisfaction. If you have ever worked on this type of project before you will know that you have a great tradesman when he always answers his phone, returns calls promptly and actually turns up on site and on time whenever he has committed to do so. Trust me this is more than often not the case with trades people we have worked with.

Two years on we are still enjoying the results of this job. A new kitchen, new bathroom, new laundry, open plan dining room and kitchen which open out onto a large deck with large planter box on one end. Significantly more storage space with numerous cupboards. We also added a double automatic door to the existing garage which Jared also completed. All of this managed tightly and in a friendly and cooperative manner and as importantly to us, just in time to ensure we were in our renovated home in time for our daughter’s birthday.
