Over the course of 2009 we had a 250 m2 house built at the above address. The house was designed by Felicity Wallace Architects and incorporates a number of sustainability features including a high level of insulation as well as solar hot water and rain water harvesting systems. It is a high-spec house that cost over $4000 per m2 to build. The house was built by Ash Sparks Builders with Jared Torrington as the foreman. Jared was originally recommended to us by one of the large Wellington-based Architect firms and we have been very pleased to have him overseeing the construction project from beginning to end.

Jared is an excellent builder who takes great pride and care in his work. His attention to detail and willingness to get the job done without compromising quality have resulted in a beautifully built house that we couldn’t be happier with. As well as being a first-rate builder, Jared has also contributed a number of design enhancements during construction that have improved the house. His work also involved managing sub-contractors, with as many as twenty people working on the house at one time. Jared has the respect of his colleagues and others in the building industry with a number of sub-contractors commenting on the quality of his workmanship.
